Setting up an NBN connection depends on the technology.
Copper (NCAS)
You must connect your NBN modem directly into the telephone line with
the supplied cable. If you have any telephone handsets, faxes or alarms
connected to the same line, they must be removed.
Fibre (NFAS), Wireless (NWAS) and HFC (NHAS)
Connect your router to the NBN NTD on UNI-D port 1 (or any other advised port).
